FUNDAMENTALS OF ANAESTHESIA (3HR)

This is an introductory course that aims to provide clinically relevant content to improve the confidence and comfort for vets and nurses when performing anaesthesia. We cover preanaesthetic patient preparation, anaesthestic drug choice, monitoring equipment, management of intraoperative complications, post-operative care and analgesia.

ADVANCED ANAESTHETIC PRACTICE (3HR)

This is an advanced course for veterinarians, and veterinary nurses with a strong anaesthesia focus. Anaesthesia of specific disease states including cardiac disease, renal disease, liver disease and intracranial disease are covered with discussion of the relevance of underlying pathophysiology to anaesthesia of the patient. Advanced monitoring and analgesic techniques are also discussed.

OPTIMISING PAIN MANAGEMENT (2HR)

Pain Management in veterinary practice has rapidly evolved. This course aims to provide clincally relevant training in the areas of acute and chronic pain management. We will cover the diagnosis, treatment, ongoing management and assessment of small animal pain conditions. Traditional, and emerging, treatments, will be discussed.

NERVE BLOCKS FOR LIMB SURGERY (4 HR)

This is a great course for any vets wanting to optimise their pain management for limb surgery. Nerve blocks will maximise your patient's comfort and minimise intraoperative anaesthetic requirements. If you perform TPLO's, fracture repairs, arthroscopy, lump removals, or any other limb or tail procedure and would like to perform nerve blocks then this course is for you. The course covers everything you need to start performing nerve blocks with the use of a nerve stimulator.
